Highlights
Late 2007 - WIAT Company became WIAT bv. Reason for this change was the fact that we
broadened our services to other markets in the Aerospace especially to the Airlines and
Aircraft Manufacturers as well as to the railway. Over the years several Companies
approached us to assist them to streamline production processes or audit their
organizations, next to advise on reducing D.O.C. by restructuring Airline Technical Divisions
and to increase Aircraft Technical Reliabilities and smart purchasing. (see also our
newsletters at the news part of this website). Our latest developments are to obtain the
contract for launching a PART 145 Aircraft Maintenance facility, as well as to contract the
Management for a well known Aircraft Manufacturer especially in the field of lining up
Partners and Subcontractors.
Mid 2007 - While the Fokker re-start has not been set in motion (see below; Late 1998),
we decided to sell the vendor parts as well as all the raw material (over 100 tons) to
Fokker Aircraft operators or other interested parties, with huge discounts compared to
today’s market prices.
Earley 2007 - Mr. Ton Ledegang joined our team in January. With his experience, well over
25 years in aviation, of which five years as technical director of the biggest Fokker 50
operator, WIAT had ‘caught a big fish in the aviation pool’.
Late 2002 - In October WIAT teamed up with a group a technicians to dismantle a Fokker
50 with the objective to generate Spares for the Operators fleet as well as cash flow on the
surplus parts. The job was done in 10 days with a team of 6 men to the full satisfaction of
the commissioner.
Late 1998 - We are working closely together with Rekkof Restart N.V. to try to get the
Fokker 70 and Fokker 100 back into production. To anticipate on the above, we have
invested in the purchase of the Daimler Chrysler Aerospace (Airbus) tools, raw material and
finished products, required for Fokker 70 & 100 fuselage production. These are stored in
our main Warehouse located at the Airport of Lelystad in the Netherlands.
Early 1992 - In January WIAT has been assigned by Burlington Engineering Bureau in
London, as their sole agent for their aviation business. Amongst others in the mid 90’s, we
have bought five F27's, complete with a large stock of Spares.Three F27's have been
dismantled under our supervision and parts are stored either in As Removed From Aircraft
or in overhauled condition. At that time we were able to deliver virtually every standard
item for the F27, directly from stock. Besides the dismantling of the F27’s we are
experienced in dismantling the Fokker 50 and Fokker 100 as well.
Early 1991 - WIAT Company was founded by Mr. Louis Wijers on January 1st., with the
purpose of supplying aviation spares and consultancy throughout the world and in
particular throughout Western Europe, Asia and the USA.
Warehouse
The challenges for WIAT’s Customers increase every
day.
In the Aerospace industry, safety is paramount. So,
while the focus is on quality and traceability required
to protect passengers, we meet strict regulatory
requirements. To protect the manufacturers and the
airlines brand, WIAT will also focus on areas to
reduce cost and boost profitability of our Customers.
The steps, we as WIAT take to help our customers,
are simply what our customers expect for the things
that go wrong will begin to fragment the relationship.
Our Customer relationships, therefore, are managed
so that we can continuously meet or exceed their
expectations. Anticipate and respond to change, and
maximize the opportunities presented by each
customer’s needs.
The key to a company’s success is customer
satisfaction. Customer satisfaction is largely based
upon the ability to control the warehouse. WIAT’s
Warehouse Management control and optimizing the
warehouse’s operating efficiency is intended to
satisfy our customers.
With our system the warehouse is on track to stay
highly competitive in a future that will only become
more demanding.
